Joint Danube Survey (JDS)

• Organization: International Commission for the Protection of the Danube River
• Purpose: The JDS was the world’s biggest river research expedition ever.
• My role: Develop and implement communications strategy for JDS2 in 2007, and produce all public content for JDS3 in 2013.
• Strategic approach:
  • Communication strategy focused on products targeted for scientists, policy makers and the public.
  • Led to a progressive website which included: publications and news, diary of expedition updated daily with news and photos, information on events held along Danube River, and more.
  • Produced a booklet, for both JDS2 and JDS3, articulating the scientific results of the expedition into a readable format for policy makers and general public.
