The Kiev Project

• Organization: WWF
• Purpose: The 2003 Environment for Europe conference, Europe´s biggest conference for national environment ministers and other stakeholders, was held in Kiev, Ukraine. The headline event was the signing of the Carpathian Convention. WWF had a campaign to raise awareness about the event and the importance of ensuring the long-term sustainability of the Carpathian Mountains in Central Europe. It also ran activities to halt destructive activities to the Danube River Basin caused by Ukraine and Croatia.
